The Rewards of Self-Lessness and Sacrifice

The reason for this pilgrimage season is an affirmation of trust and faith as exemplified in the life of the Prophet Ibrahim (as) and his trust in Allah (swt), as well as Ismail’s (as) trust in both Allah (swt) and his father. This teaching, from the time of pre-history to the Torah and to the present, is little understood in its applicability to our lives today. Shaykh Rashid believes that in the tradition of Tasawwuf, we can find both the living meaning and the eternal metaphor for life.
